What is happening?

Spoken Content on iOS devices remains available on a secure test, if it is activated prior to logging into the test. Pearson recommends that all test devices be checked to ensure these features are turned off prior to a student using the device on secure testing.

Pearson is working with our partners at Apple to permanently address this scenario.

What does this mean?

There is a need to ensure the accessible Spoken Content features on iOS devices used for secure testing are turned off.

What do I do (and how do I do it)?

To turn off Spoken Content features on an iOS device, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the Settings app on your home screen and tap on it to open.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Accessibility.
  3. In the Accessibility menu, find and tap on Spoken Content.
  4. Within the Spoken Content menu, turn off all options.

By following these steps, you should be able to turn off Spoken Content feedback on your iOS device.
