Set Up Java and Enable Pop-Ups for TestNav

To prevent students from accessing other programs during secure testing, TestNav uses a Java applet within the browser to display the test window in full screen.

Browser-based TestNav opens each secure test as a pop-up window. You must allow pop-up windows for browser-based TestNav prior to a secure test. If you do not allow pop-up windows for TestNav, you see an error when you launch a secure test.

See the browser-specific sections below configuring Java and enabling pop-ups for each.

Info

You do not need Java installed when you use TestNav installable apps, as TestNav apps are NOT browser-based.
