To get data into and out of the system, particularly large amounts of data, you can upload (import) or download (export) files. For descriptions of data files you can upload, see Data File Descriptions

Import Data

To import files, follow these steps:

  1. From Setup > Import / Export Data, open the task list and select Import / Export Data. Click Start.

  2. Select the type of file you want to import.

  3. Click Choose File and navigate to the file you want to import. You may select Ignore Error Threshold (when available).    You can provide email addresses of persons who need to be notified when the task is complete.

  4. Click Process.

If you import multiple versions of a file, then the data in the system will be updated to reflect any changes to existing records and to add any new records.

After you import a file, you will see it listed at Setup > Import / Export Data. The Status column displays if the import was successful or not. The following is a list of possible file statuses:

  3. View listed details about the file(s) you selected. If you selected more than one file, then select the file you want to view from list on left. To download the file, click Download File.

Depending on the task you are performing, you can also enter data directly into the system.

Your program works together with Pearson to clearly define the content and layout of your data files. Users authorized to import data files are provided instructions for creating file formats specific to your organization and populating them with correct data.
