You can use the Inline Choice interaction to create fill-in-the-blank items.

See Author or Edit a Test Item for general instruction on item creation.

  1. From the Editor tab, select Add Interaction, and then select Inline Choice.
  2. Under Text, enter or paste in text. 
  3. Select Insert Inline Text to add dropdown menus as needed. 
  4. Under Choices, select a correct answer for each response.
  5. Under Scoring Settings, enter a value in Max Points. 
  6. Select Save.
