Require Lockdown Browser

The Require Lockdown Browser setting ensures that users access OSCAR using the Lockdown Browser application. This provides a more secure scoring environment by preventing access through standard web browsers. 

When this setting is enabled, users must launch OSCAR from the Lockdown Browser to sign in. If a user attempts to log in without the application installed, they will be unable to access OSCAR until it is installed and used. 

To support this requirement, OSCAR provides a direct download link for the Lockdown Browser on the login page. This allows users to easily download and install the application without leaving OSCAR or searching external websites. 

Downloading the Lockdown Browser 

A Lockdown Browser download link is available directly on the OSCAR login screen. This ensures users can quickly access the required software if they do not already have it installed. 

The link appears at the bottom left of the login card and includes a star icon along with the “Lockdown Browser” text for easy identification. 

Selecting the link opens a new browser tab and immediately begins downloading the Lockdown Browser installer. 

Once installed, users must relaunch OSCAR using the Lockdown Browser to successfully log in when this setting is enabled.
