If enabled, you can turn on the Text-to-Speech (TTS) accommodation for a student in a single test session from the Proctor Dashboard.

  1. Open the Proctor Dashboard. (See also: Options for Accessing the Proctor Dashboard)

  2. Find the student who needs TTS enabled, then select the toggle in the TTS column to enable or disable TTS. A window appears to confirm your action; select OK.

The student may need to refresh their browser or log out of the lockdown browser (get reseated) and log back into the test to see the TTS player.

Enabling TTS Permanently

Some users can edit a student account to add TTS.

  1. Go to Rostering > Users.
  2. Search for the student, and then click the Edit icon for that student.
  3. Click the Accommodations tab, then check the Text To Speech box for each relevant profile.
  4. Select Save. It may take up to 30 minutes for changes to accommodations to appear in an Administration (test session).
